Ohhh I am intrigued and wish you luck. I've been dying to see more leftists (with actual platforms) try to reach beyond the echo chamber. May you redirect the bulk granola flow back to the left where it belongs and save us all.
The operative model ought to be alignment rather than agreement. If we align on the “load-bearing” elements we can disagree on specifics while carrying on the fight.
Well-intentioned commenters w feedback… much love, but it seems like this whole thing is about finding points of alignment, not disagreement. The alt right pipeline rarely if ever gets in its own way. Perfection isn’t necessary.
“Be realistic. Demand the impossible” sounds good on paper, but it also brings to mind the tension at the heart of socialist politics during the Second International — namely the instability of trying to hold both a “minimum” and a “maximum” program. For a long time, the argument on the Left was that this instability resulted in the European socialist parties during this period being irredeemably “reformist” because the “minimum” program always took precedence over the “maximum” program. But, with hindsight, we can see that the problem with the “minimum” program(s) embraced by the socialist parties during this period was less that they were “reformist” per se, and more that the brand of “realism” they embraced ended up being nationalist by default. In that sense, it was the “minimum” program, and not the “maximum” program, that led to the collapse of the Second International via capitulation to nationalism at the onset of the First World War. Do you guys have views, concretely, about what “Be[ing] realistic” means in our context and how it can avoid that pitfall?

Finally! someone said the quiet part out loud. one charismatic person does not a powerful coalition make.
I'm just here waiting for a single policy statement? Right now this sounds like the usual Dem "messaging" focus without any substance.
let's fucking go!!! (i have some thoughts 🙂↕️)
Would like decolonization to be a basic litmus test in this space.
Why not “Be realistic. Build the impossible”? The fatal flaw of the Left is always “demand”; the vocabulary of slaves.
That’s beautiful. Im importing the idea to the Brazilian legal academic universe 🫶🏻
